Niwaki Hori Hori - Japanese trowel

Incredibly useful weeding and planting trowel.

When I asked what other Niwaki tools you would like in the Gather shop, the answer was unanimous - the Hori Hori knife. Is it even a knife though? Everyone raves about how it is a tool for everything. Part weeding knife (who hasn’t used a breadknife to weed between cracks?), part trowel, part saviour of gardener’s hands. I ordered some, I tried one, and I am a converted.

From Niwaki: Japanese trowel, all-round weeder, bulb-planter supreme and general subterranean rummager… the carbon steel blade runs right into the handle, so it’s tough and strong, but not invincible. Brilliant for planting bulbs, weeding and all sorts of garden stuff - but whatever you do don’t take it as carry on luggage. Comes with a tough canvas sheath.
