Daucus carota

£2.50

A beautiful native wildflower with flat white flower heads & my favourite seed heads of any flower I grow

Sow: September-April

Cut: June-September

The wild carrot really is a wonderful flower. Long, fine stems, with gorgeous white umbels and a perfect scarlet dot in the centre. Once the

blooms are over, the whole flower folds in on itself to form a bird’s nest of a seed head. Although technically a biennial, sow it early and it

works as an annual, preferably before the last frost as a bit of cold will do wonders for germination

Direct sow as, like so many forms of carrot, it has a tap root which dislikes disturbance

Hardy annual. Click here for your hardy annual growing guide.
