Biodynamic seed: Calendula officinalis

Organic & biodynamic seed. Add some colour to your plate with these gloriously cheerful calendula petals. A range of yellows and oranges for pops of sunshine. Harvest early in the morning and keep cool for the freshest blooms. Scatter over salads, soft cheeses, and frittatas or brew it into tea.

Calendula are unbelievably easy to grow and are great as companion plants. Just tuck in and around other plants in your garden and then harvest little and often; if you keep picking, they will flower until the first frost. They are quite hardy and so sow in either spring or autumn. If you are very sheltered, they may over-winter for you but it is just as easy to collect the chunky seeds and save them for the next season’s sowing. They are quite happy in a pot or container.
