Workshops, stocking fillers & sweet pea bundles
For home made, foraged festive cheer, join me, Vicky & Ed in their incredible hand-built, off -grid house, Mello View, looking over the Axe Valley. You’re very welcome to come on your own or with a few friends.
The Saturday course sold out in a week so we have put on another one for the Sunday. Can I recommend booking asap?
Mince pies and mulled cider and armfuls of scented evergreen. Mello View is made for gatherings and we'll be loading the long trestle tables with foraged foliage, scented evergreen herbs, ribbons, baubles, copper wire and over-sized pine cones. Oh, and glasses of tipply goodness obviously.
You’ll take home you own wreath for your front door (or for inside, where you can actually see it) with your choice of ribbons and decorations.
WHEN: Wednesday 12 December 2018 - 6:30 to 9:00pm
WHERE: Mello View, Winsham, Somerset
The antithesis of land-fill culture this festive season. These gift bundles of four of the best sweet pea varieties for cutting are made by me in Somerset from recycled, hand-made paper. They are elegant, tactile, wrapped in velvet ribbon and, if your loved one/recipient can bear to tear open the envelopes, the sweet peas will give and give all summer long.
I've always said that seeds make the best gift. Even in the depths of winter, there is one flower you can start on its way, and that a sweet pea. I grow rows and rows and rows of them, and if you get them going over your Christmas holidays, then you'll get flowers early, and you'll have your hands in compost, scientifically proven to make you happier.
These are bundled and ribboned to make them easy to give to someone you are wanting to treat (or impress). They have comprehensive growing instructions handily printed on the inside, so even absolute horticultural novices are guaranteed success.
Each bundle contains one envelope of each of the four varieties: Nimbus, Kippen Cream, Beaujolais, and Our Harry.
Just need that little something? A gift to go by each plate at the family Christmas table? An extra special present to go in the hard-to-impress mother-in-law's stocking? A thank you for the neighbours and they don't like champagne? No sellotape or gift wrapping required.
The stocking filler seeds come in sets of five, chosen at random from my seed boxes. Guaranteed to include at least three flowers as well as foliage. Probably one Fata Morgana scabious in each, as I had a bumper crop of that this summer.
